Pokemon GO has pulled the curtain back on its "Rediscover" campaign, which aims to bring lapsed players back to the augmented reality mobile game by tempting them with major updates. Pokemon GO has been one of the world's most popular mobile games since it was first released in the summer of 2016. A huge part of this success is thanks to Niantic regularly releasing new updates to keep fans engaged.
Recently, Niantic released a Pokemon GO teaser trailer that pointed to big updates coming to the game, though it stopped short of providing details. Now the full-length version of that trailer is available for fans to watch. It confirms some of the upgrades Pokemon GO will be treated to in the near future, and gives fans an idea of when they can expect said upgrades to go live in the game.
As revealed by Niantic, Pokemon GO is getting major updates that will refresh the map, encounter screens, battle screens, and more, with new backgrounds including forests, cities, beaches, and mountains. New Pokemon GO Avatar options are also being added to the game, with GO Snapshot getting a boost that will let players include up to three Pokemon in one photo. The first of these updates is arriving on April 17 as part of the "Rediscover Yourself" initiative, which will presumably focus on the Avatar upgrades.
