Baldur’s Gate 3: Deliver Nere’s Head Guide

Spaw asks the player to get Nere’s head. Here’s how to complete this quest in BG3.

The Underdark is an extremely dangerous area in Baldur’s Gate 3. There, the player will be faced with many dangers as they explore more.

The player will also be tasked with multiple tasks and quests, one of which is known as “Deliver Nere’s Head,” for which the player will be rewarded by the Myconid.

Where to Get The Quest

For the player to start the “Deliver Nere’s Head” quest, the player must first make it into the Underdark. Once there, the player must make their way deeper there. The player will probably have to first pass around the Decrepit Village and push on further until they reach an area known as the Myconid Colony.

The player will be faced with some hostile Myconid, but if they manage to talk their way through without causing a fight to erupt, then they’ll be allowed inside the colony.

The player will be drawn to speak to Spaw, who’s at the top of the mushroom stairs. There, Spaw will explain to the player what the Duergar have done to their people and asks the help of the player to eliminate Gekh Coal and his men, back at the Decrepit Village.

Once the player eliminates Gekh Coal and goes back to speak to Spaw, they will reward the player, and give a new quest. Spaw now wants the player to get Nere’s head, which will be more challenging for the player.

Where to Find Nere

True Soul Nere will be found in a different location, the Grymforge. To go there, the player must head back to the Decrepit Village, where they defeated Gekh Coal. There, they will locate a boat. The player should make use of that boat to reach the Grymforge. The player will get interrogated on the way by various characters but if the player manages through with those dialogues, then they’ll reach the Grymforge.

Once in the Grymforge, the player must head up the stairs until they locate Sergeant Thrinn. She will be next to a pile of rubble, making slaves dig it up. If the player speaks to her, she’ll explain that True Soul Nere is stuck under that ruble and that the player must help him out.

Of course, the player, if they want to complete the “Deliver Nere’s Head” quest will have no intention of sparing him, but the player does have two options when it comes to tackling this mission.

How To Get Nere’s Head

Easy Way — Let Him Die Under The Rubble

With that done, there’s a huge door in the same area that needs to be opened with lockpicking. Once inside, the player must look around for a button that will open a secret entry in the room, it should be in the back.

Once inside, the player will go through a double-iron door. Once through, the player will be faced with a fight with some Ochre Jelly. The player should be careful, as these creatures use acid attacks, and even walking over their corpses could cause damage to the player. The fight shouldn’t be too hard, however, and the player should be through with them with just a few turns.

Once these creatures are down, the player needs to continue up the stairs and jump over the cliffs. At some point, the player will find an Intricate door. Don’t bother lockpicking it as there’s an opening left of that door.

Once inside, the player will finally find Philomeen. She has in her possession a large amount of rune powder, which is perfect for blowing things up. She will threaten to blow everything up, so the player will need to make use of some Persuasion to get her to calm down.

She’ll step down and the player should ask her for some of her runepowder. She’ll be against giving the player her powder, but will be okay with parting ways with a single vial, which is enough for what the player wants to accomplish.

The player should take the vial from her and let her be on her way. With that in hand, the player should go back to where Nere is stuck.

There, the player needs to just place the vial down and blow it up. With that, Nere will be out.

Nere will start acting evil the second he steps out, and all the player needs to do now is to eliminate him with the help of Elder Brithvar and his men.

Once done, the player just has to collect his head.
