A Destiny 2 player has brought a touch of Night City's dark side to the game in the form of a customized costume based on Cyberpunk 2077 villain Adam Smasher. The costume uses Destiny 2 armor parts meant for a Titan-class Guardian to evoke the massive, cybernetically-augmented thug.
Destiny 2's potential for player expression continues to grow as Bungie expands the game's massive selection of armor parts further. Thanks to the in-game armor ornament system, also called "transmog," players can make any armor they're wearing look like any other armor they've earned. Coupled with the Destiny 2 shader system, experienced players have a huge number of options to choose from when trying to achieve a certain look, or when cosplaying a well-known character like Marty McFly from Back to the Future.
In a new cosplay customization, one Destiny 2 player created their own customized Titan based on Cyberpunk 2077 heavy Adam Smasher. They submitted their customization to the DestinyFashion subreddit as user RastaDino, titling their post with a reference to one of Smasher's first lines from Cyberpunk 2077, when he addresses a character by calling them a "cut of meat."
Destiny 2 Adam Smasher Costume Looks As Augmented As The Real Thing
RastaDino's Adam Smasher Destiny 2 costume uses a number of parts designed to maximize the Titan's size and bulk, the better to reflect Smasher's extensive cybernetic upgrades. Key to the look is the skull-like appearance of the Veritas Helm introduced in The Witch Queen expansion. When equipped with the Scarlet Semblance shader, the helm makes the Titan's face appear to be partially composed of flesh and skin, evoking some of Adam Smasher's few remaining organic components.
Meanwhile, the rest of the outfit consists of the Dark Age Gauntlets on the arms, BrayTech Sn0Boots, and the tube-festooned Interlaced Mark class item. The final bit of mechanical bulk comes from the Momentous Potential ornament, a cosmetic addition to the Hazardous Propulsion Exotic Titan chest piece. Other than the head, the whole outfit is colored by the black-and-red Carbon Blood shader, matching the militarized color scheme of Adam Smasher's cybernetic body.
Fellow players on the DestinyFashion subreddit praised RastaDino's work. Many thought the inclusion of Hazardous Propulsion as the outfit's Exotic armor piece as highly appropriate, thanks to the chest piece's ability to load and launch powerful rockets at enemies. In Cyberpunk 2077, Adam Smasher is able to launch a barrage of missiles at players during his boss fight at the end of Cyberpunk 2077. Some players jokingly asked for a version of the costume that uses the popular Dunemarchers leg Exotic, the better to cosplay as Smasher using his built-in Sandevistan speed-enhancing implant.
