Diablo 4 Making More Changes to Helltides in Season 5

Highlights

  • Diablo 4 Season 5 is changing Helltides, adding Unique and Mythic Uniques from Tortured Gifts and new visual effects.
  • Helltide events become available after completing the main campaign, with adjustments to rewards and drop rates.
  • The Purveyor of Curiosities and Whisper Caches will also offer Unique and Unique Mythics, while Baneful Hearts drop rates are adjusted.

Diablo 4 will be making some changes to Helltides in Season 5, such as making it possible to drop Unique and Mythic Uniques from Tortured Gifts. An important part of Diablo 4's endgame, the Helltides give players a new reason to explore areas of Sanctuary they have previously visited.

Helltides are timed events in Diablo 4 that become available once the player completes the game's main campaign. When they do that, players will receive a notification that a Helltide is underway in Diablo 4, fighting enemies in the invaded region. Diablo 4 changed Helltides in a big way in Season 4, making this endgame activity more rewarding and exciting, such as making it available in all World Tiers. Now, Diablo 4 promises to make even more adjustments to Helltides when the next season of the action RPG begins.

In Diablo 4 Season 5, Unique and Unique Mythics will drop from Tortured Gifts, known as Helltide Chests. According to Wowhead, in addition to this change, Blizzard will introduce new visual effects so that Diablo 4's Unique Mythics can be identified more easily when they drop and when players have them in their inventory. As well as becoming drops of Helltides' Tortured Gifts, Diablo 4 players will find Unique and Unique Mythics with the Purveyor of Curiosities and in Whisper Caches from the Tree of Whispers.

Helltides to Get Changes in Diablo 4 Season 5

Another change that Helltides will receive in Diablo 4 Season 5 is the removal of Murmuring Obols from Tortured Gifts. Diablo 4 will significantly reduce the time it takes to complete Whisper bounties, along with updates to the icons to make them more consistent with the other Whispers. The drop rate of Baneful Hearts will be adjusted, starting at 13% and increasing each time the Diablo 4 player fails to get one. If successful, however, the chance will reset to 10%. Hellborne and Helltide Assassin will have a 1% chance of dropping a Baneful Heart, increasing when the player fails. If a player gets the Heart, it will reset to 2%.

With this wave of changes, Diablo 4 is making the Helltide experience more engaging by increasing the sources of Unique Mythic drops. Another highlight is the visual adjustment to the colors of Unique Mythics to make them easier to identify, addressing a recurring problem that Diablo 4 players have with the game's items. The change to Diablo 4's Baneful Hearts drop comes, according to the devs, to make the items more valuable. In addition to the other changes, Diablo 4 promises to shake up the overall Helltide experience in Season 5.
