Elden Ring fans are surprised that the latest update didn't nerf the Impenetrable Thorns, which has been one of the most broken sorceries that was added as part of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The sorcery has been the go-to strategy for players with Faith builds, and if used along with the right set of equipment, it has the ability to one-shot some of the strongest bosses in Elden Ring.
The latest Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree update fixed a plethora of bugs in the game, but most important of all was the changes to a couple of skills in the game. The damage dealt by Ash of War: Swift Slash and Rolling Sparks was significantly reduced after the patch. This means that players could no longer rely on the powerful Lightning Perfume Bottle in Elden Ring to one-shot bosses. However, there is another strategy that is still quite effective.
Several players on the Elden Ring subreddit expressed their surprise over the new Shadow of the Erdtree DLC update. Fans expected that the Impenetrable Thorns would be fixed alongside Swift Slash and Ash of War: Rolling Sparks , but FromSoftware has strangely left the sorcery untouched. Many highlighted that it was probably due to the fact that Swift Slash and Rolling Sparks affected PvP to quite an extent, but that wasn't the case for the Impenetrable Thorns unless players have a specific build.
Precisely, players will not only need a decent enough Faith level but also extremely high Arcane and decent Intelligence stats in Elden Ring to make it work in PvP. There are a couple of reasons why the
Impenetrable Thorns is so effective. At range, all three thorn attacks that the Impenetrable Thorns project end up hitting the enemy. This part of the attack scales with Faith and Intelligence. However, the most crucial part is the sorcery's insane bleed buildup. For that, players will need to level up the Arcane stats. As highlighted by other players, if one has Arcane as high as 80, it can instantly cause the bleed status effect which can take away a chunk of health.

In order to find the Impenetrable Thorns in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, players will need to reach the Shadow Keep. Players will need to reach the Dark Chamber Entrance Site of Grace which is right before
Messmer the Impaler boss room. From there, players need to head down the stairs, make their way across to the very end of the bridge, and go down another set of stairs. After that, one can drop down the ledge and the item will be right behind a bat.
