The Seamless Co-op Mod for Elden Ring enables players to experience the entirety of the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in, well, seamless co-op. With the Seamless Co-op Mod, you can enjoy the full game in cooperative multiplayer along with five of your friends. The mod removes all fog walls and barriers that limit the multiplayer experience.
The mod also allows each player in the cooperative play to summon their own spectral steed and synchronizes world updates for all players. However, with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, the Seamless Co-op Mod has been broken and requires an update. If you’re having trouble getting it updated, here is how you do it.

Before the release of Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, the Seamless Co-op Mod catered to altering the cooperative experience of the base game, providing players with the ability to freely explore the entire map.
Now, with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion released, an additional map has been added to the game, along with new content and potential bugs. To ensure that the Seamless Co-op Mod functions effectively in the expansion, the entire mod has been rewritten. Players will need to update the existing mod on their computers to enjoy seamless cooperative play in the DLC.
How To Update Seamless Co-op Mod For Shadow Of The Erdtree
Updating the Seamless Co-op Mod preserves your modded save file and ensures that you resume the game from where you last left off. Here are the steps involved in updating the Seamless Co-op Mod successfully:
- Begin by downloading the latest Seamless Co-op Mod from Nexusmods.com.
- Extract the Seamless Co-op mod files using a file extraction software like WinRar or 7Zip, then drag the contents inside the main folder to the Elden Ring installation folder.
- The common installation destination is C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonElden RingGame.
- Moving the mod files to Elden Ring’s Game folder will invoke a prompt to replace the files. Hit "replace all files" before moving on to the next step.
- Now, move the ersc_settings.ini file into the SeamlessCoop folder. (This step may not be required if the mod is updated and already includes the file within the SeamlessCoop folder.)
- The next step involves adding a secure password to the ersc_settings.ini file. Open this file using any text editor and scroll down to the bottom to find the [Password] section. Enter a secure password in the following format: cooppassword = Password. Save the file and move on to the final step.
- Locate the ersc_launcher.exe file and create a desktop shortcut for it.
To enjoy the updated Seamless Co-op Mod, ensure that you launch Elden Ring through the newly created ersc_launcher.exe. To access the items needed for cooperative play, you must first rest at a Site of Grace, and then use the Tiny Jar to open your world to friends.
