Elden Ring offers a variety of talismans to improve the power and survivability of your character builds. All talismans come with special effects like improving your stats, providing buffs, and more. A few talismans have a rare ability to grant an attack buff when certain status effects occur nearby. In the base game, players can get an attack bonus from Lord of Blood’s Exultation and Kindred of Rot’s Exultation by triggering blood loss and rot or poison.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree brought two more such talismans called Aged One’s Exultation and St. Trina’s Smile. While Aged One’s Exultation talisman is a reward for defeating the Aging Untouchables found in Abyssal Woods, you have to go through Thiollier’s questline to get the St. Trina’s Smile talisman.
St. Trina’s Smile Talisman Location
St. Trina’s Smile talisman is a reward for defeating Thiollier when he invades you in the Garden of Deep Purple. To trigger this invasion, you will have to progress Thiollier’s questline until he reaches the Garden of Deep Purple in search of St. Trina. You cannot get this talisman by defeating him at an early part of his quest.
To start Thiollier’s questline, you will first have to talk to him near the Pillar Path Cross site of grace. You can get to this site of grace by following the path east of Castle Front site of grace. After talking to him and exhausting all voice lines, go to the Main Gate Cross site of grace located at the entrance of the Belurat legacy dungeon and talk to Moore. Keep talking to him until he gives you an item called Black Syrup for Thiollier.
Go back to Thiollier’s location and give him the Black Syrup. After a few voice lines, he will give you Thiollier’s Concoction. Then, you will have to head towards the Shadow Keep’s entrance to get a pop-up message saying a Great Rune has been broken. This event happens when Miquella abandons his Great Rune, causing all of his followers to break free from his charm.
Talk to Thiollier again and he will tell you about wanting to see St. Trina again and his decision to go south to find her. Now, you will have to defeat the Putrescent Knight located at the deepest depths of the Fissure in the Southern Shore. It is a remembrance boss who is extremely weak to Holy damage.

You can also summon Thiollier to help with the fight. After defeating the Putrescent Knight, you can unlock the Garden of Deep Purple site of grace. Just ahead of this site of grace is a small cave leading to St. Trina where you will find Thiollier as well.

Interact with St. Trina and choose the Imbibe Nectar option until you hear a voice line from St. Trina herself. Pass St. Trina’s message to Thiollier who will then be angered at you. After leaving the cave, Thiollier will invade you in the Garden of Deep Purple. Defeat him here to get St. Trina’s Smile Talisman.
What does St. Trina’s Smile do?
St. Trina’s Smile is a must-have talisman for sleep builds in Elden Ring. Even though rare, there are many players interested in using the power of sleep to win fights. St. Trina’s Smile talisman comes with a simple effect of boosting a player’s attack by 20% when sleep occurs nearby.
With Shadow of the Erdtree introducing a new type of sleep status called Eternal Sleep, many players will be excited to try some sort of Sleep build. In that case, St. Trina’s Smile can provide a decent attack boost when you inflict sleep on any enemy. This talisman can also come in handy against Godskin Nobles and Apostles as they are quite weak to sleep buildup.
