When Elden Ring players first arrive in the Church District below Shadow Keep, they will find the entirety of the area flooded. Moving around will require precise jumping onto platforms and rooftops where powerful enemies are patiently waiting. Before players try to explore the whole area and find the boss, it would be best to lower the water level, which can be done by interacting with a heavy lever.

How To Lower The Church District Water Level In Elden Ring

After reaching Bonny Village, accessible via Moorth Ruins, you will need to make your way east and then northwest, eventually reaching the Church District Entrance Site of Grace inside Shadow Keep. From the Grace, head northwest and jump onto the rooftop up ahead.
The water level in the surrounding area is high enough that one wrong step will make you fall to your death.

Get to the other side of this rooftop and jump to the rock platform ahead. Head left then right, carefully making your way to the wall of the Keep. Ignore the flaming skeletons and head to the rooftop on your left. There is a Fire Knight here who you should deal with; otherwise, you will constantly get hit while trying to jump on the next platform. Head south and jump on the railing that leads to another rooftop above.

There should be a hole in the middle of it, which drops you to a stone arch. Head straight and fall through the gap up ahead to reach a room with a Fire Knight coming from the front. Ignore this enemy and head through the right doorway, which leads to a stone pathway. There should be three Bats along the way before you finally reach the ladder at the end. Climb the ladder and interact with the lever to lower the water level.
How To Get To Scadutree Avatar In Elden Ring

After activating the lever, head down the ladder, go through the doorway on the left, and jump down. After exiting this room, head right to interact with the Sunken Chapel Site of Grace. From the Grace, head outside, and to the left should be a tree where you must go.
This tree will break down, and an Ulcerated Tree Spirit will come out. Defeating this enemy is not necessary, but it drops
Mantle of Thorns once slain.

Head through the doorway to the northwest and approach the Fire Knight in the distance. Do not run past the Knight; instead, head right of his location to reach a room with a staircase on both sides of the room. Head straight and interact with the door, revealing an elevator behind it.
Go down and interact with the Tree-Worship Passage Site of Grace. Make your way forward, crossing the bridge and going down the staircase on either side of the statue. You will come across a Site of Grace with
Marika’s Rune behind it and the Boss Gate to Scadutree Avatar to the northeast.
