A Fallout 4 fan discovered a silly glitch involving an NPC meeting a rather untimely fate while playing through the game's pre-war introductory sequence. The popular Bethesda RPG is somewhat infamous for being fairly buggy like most of the developer's other games, and although these bugs can be occasionally infuriating, some of them can be pretty funny. The glitch that this particular Fallout 4 player experienced is definitely more so on the humorous side rather than the game-breaking one, and it's quite the sight to behold.
Thanks to the immense success of Amazon's Fallout TV show, the Fallout franchise as a whole has been rising in popularity lately. With the live-action adaptation capturing the attention of mainstream audiences around the globe, many gamers have been flocking to the Fallout games to get an extra whiff of the distinct, retro-futuristic world that only this post-apocalyptic series can provide. The fourth mainline installment of Bethesda's beloved franchise, in particular, has been experiencing the best of this resurgence, with Fallout 4 recently topping European sales charts almost nine years after its original release. Of course, with this increased popularity comes more fans, and with more fans comes more funny discoveries, namely when it comes to bugs and glitches. One of the latest of these discoveries to be shared on social media, though, is especially comical, to say the least.
On the r/Fallout subreddit, Reddit user RubberChicken36 shared a brief clip of a nuclear bomb dropping during one of the cutscenes from the pre-war opening segment of Fallout 4. In the short video, the player character, his wife, and some NPCs are seen riding an elevator down to Vault 111 as they narrowly escape the massive shockwaves from the earth-shattering explosion. Unfortunately, though, Fallout 4 glitches out, and one of the NPCs that's supposed to be heading down the elevator alongside the player gets stuck outside instead. The doors below the character almost immediately afterward, making her as good as dead.
As goofy of a glitch as this is, this is by no means the only strange bug that players have recently found in Bethesda's hit RPG. One Fallout 4 player, for instance, found a hilarious glitch in which an NPC was somehow swimming through the streets of the Commonwealth. Meanwhile, another gamer stumbled upon a bug that turned the popular synth companion Nick Valentine into a Jet addict for some reason. Though bugs and glitches typically hamper the quality of a game's experience, sometimes bizarre glitches like these can make playing titles like Fallout 4 a little bit more entertaining.
Fans Have Found No Shortage of Funny Bugs and Glitches in Fallout 4
It's not all good news when it comes to Fallout, though, as the recently-released next-gen update for Fallout 4 has been widely criticized by fans for launching with several technical issues, despite having been delayed for over a year. Nonetheless, many gamers are still rushing to play Fallout 4, which goes to show just how much hype and excitement is surrounding the franchise at the moment.
