The Fallout TV show has an adorable dog named CX404 (and later Dogmeat). Here’s how to get her in Fallout Shelter.
Fallout is one of Bethesda's biggest game franchises, and it has always been known for having an adorable dog named Dogmeat that has acted as a guide and companion for the main character. The dog, who first made its appearance in the original game, is modeled after a dog known as River, who passed away in 2021.
In order to commemorate the new Fallout TV show, Fallout Shelter is celebrating by adding characters from the show into the game and one character that made the list is CX404, which is the show's version of Dogmeat. Here's how players can get her in Fallout Shelter.
Who Is CX404 in Fallout?
CX404 is the TV show's version of Dogmeat that was born in an Enclave lab. She was originally going to be put down due to her size and structure but was saved by Wilzig, who quickly became her best friend. When the two were forced to go on the run, they were found by The Ghoul, who was hunting them for a bounty that was placed on their heads by the Enclave. After that, Wilzig was able to escape with the help of Lucy MacLean, but CX404 was left behind. Once they catch up to Lucy and Wilzig, Wilzig has already died, leading CX404 to stay with The Ghoul and Lucy.
How to Get CX404 as a Pet
Close
In order to get CX404 as a pet, players will need to complete her quest, "Codename: DOG." However, this quest will not appear at first, instead, players will need to complete the six other quests in the questline "Power Struggle." These quests will unlock the characters of Lucy, The Ghoul, Maximus, Ma June, Snip Snip, Snake Oil Salesman, and then CX404. Here's a breakdown of each of the quests in that questline.
- A Pier Into The Future
- The Ghoul In Black
- My Brothers' Keeper
- All Killy No Filly
- Snipping Coupons
- Hooked On Tonics
- Codename: DOG
- Astronomical Aggression
Once players reach the "Codename: Dog" quest, they will just need to travel to the location and rescue CX404. She will then follow the Vault Dwellers back to their home and become a pet.
CX404's Pet Bonus
When a Vault Dweller equips a pet, they are usually given some sort of bonus to go along with it. In the case of CX404, they will get a boost to the XP that their owner gets while doing tasks. This will be increased by 38%, giving Dwellers a decent boost.
