A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community has revealed what players can expect from the new Artifact Sets coming in Version 5.0, as Natlan will seemingly bring a unique combat mechanic to the table. As Genshin Impact bids farewell to Fontaine in Version 4.8, its gaze slowly turns towards the enigmatic region of Natlan. Version 5.0 is expected to be released in late August 2024, and will introduce three new characters to the Genshin Impact roster.
These new characters were revealed in the recent Genshin Impact teaser for Natlan. Out of the trio, Kachina is expected to be a 4-Star Geo Polearm, whereas Kinich will be the first 5-Star Dendro Claymore. By contrast, Mualani will be another 5-Star Hydro Catalyst, though it remains to be seen how her ability kit will differ from characters such as Neuvillette, Kokomi, and Mona.
According to FouL, the new Artifact Sets for Version 5.0 will revolve around a combat mechanic unique to Natlan characters known as Night Spirit. It is currently unknown what the Night Spirit does, or how it is triggered, but it's safe to assume that it will be the Natlan equivalent to Arkhe from Fontaine. Whereas Arkhe was primarily an exploration gimmick, it's possible that Night Spirit is a more combat-oriented feature inherent to all Natlan characters.
Genshin Impact Version 5.0 Artifact Sets
First Set
- Increases damage and boosts CRIT RATE by consuming Night Spirit.
Second Set
- When a team member enters the Night Spirit state, it triggers a reaction that restores energy and increases damage for the character wielding the set.
While details are scarce at the moment, the new Artifact Sets strongly imply that the Pyro Archon in Genshin Impact will likely have an ability kit capable of enabling the Night Spirit feature for characters that are not native to Natlan. Whereas the first Artifact Set appears to be made with Natlan characters in mind, the second Artifact Set should be viable with any hypercarry as long as one of their supports is from Natlan.
Though some players were hoping HoYoverse would add more characters that use the Bond of Life mechanic, it's rumored that Kinich will be made with Burning teams in mind. Out of the two Artifact Sets introduced in Version 4.6, it would seem that Unfinished Reverie will end up being the more valuable one in the long term. Those who want to give Burning teams a try should look to obtain Emilie, who will make her debut in the second half of Version 4.8. While Emilie is perfectly suited for Burnmelt teams featuring Wriothesley or Ganyu, as well as Burgeon teams featuring Baizhu and Furina, her potential synergy with Kinich in Version 5.0 should also be considered.
