  • Levitt's impressive attention to detail included using the original trailer's audio and iconic Tom Petty track, "Love Is A Long Road."
  • With the official GTA 6 trailer garnering 185 million views, fans eagerly anticipate a second trailer unveiling more about the game.

YouTuber Andrew Levitt has perfectly remade the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer in Miami. The official reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 rocked the gaming world when it debuted in December 2023, garnering millions of views in mere hours and skyrocketing Rockstar Games' YouTube channel subscriber count to 10 million. The 90-second trailer also became the most liked gaming tweet of all time on Twitter.

Grand Theft Auto 5 celebrated its tenth anniversary back in September, and Rockstar's last big game, Red Dead Redemption 2, turned five years old in October. To say it's been a while since Rockstar released a big new game would be an understatement. As such, hype surrounding its next Grand Theft Auto venture has been steadily growing over the years. The trailer gave fans their first look at the game's dual protagonists, Lucia and Jason. The thrilling 90-second reveal teaser ended by giving Grand Theft Auto 6 a broad 2025 release window, leaving many to speculate about at what point next year it'll release, if it doesn't get pushed to 2026.

While fans await the next official word from Rockstar, famous YouTuber Andrew Levitt has gone ahead and recreated the entire Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer in real life. Traveling to Miami, the American city Grand Theft Auto's Vice City is inspired by, Levitt captures the real world locations that were seen in the trailer. Since a handful of shots in the trailer are based off real world events, Levitt used the original footage of those events for his trailer. Levitt's recreation also uses the original trailer's audio, as well as the now iconic track "Love Is A Long Road" by Tom Petty, a song that saw extra attention on music streaming platforms after the trailer's December debut.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer Recreated In Real Life

Andrew Levitt also uploaded a 12-minute behind the scenes video showing his adventure through Miami to capture the 38 unique shots of the real world locations that inspired the trailer. It was impressive to see just how accurately Rockstar Games has recreated areas of Miami for Vice City, down to the exact building facades and crosswalk art. Some shots, such as the penthouse pool party scene, were too expensive for Levitt to gain access to, so he utilized a drone camera to capture and recreate a number of the trailer's shots.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer currently sits at a whopping 185 million views on YouTube. Many fans are surely wondering when Rockstar will drop its second trailer. Even though Summer Game Fest is right around the corner, Rockstar usually doesn't take part in such industry-wide events, as it normally does its own thing. It's possible that the second GTA 6 trailer, which may have more to do with the characters and general narrative elements, could potentially be unveiled sometime later this year if the game is indeed still on track for 2025.
