Death Stranding 2 developer Kojima Productions has confirmed its presence for Tokyo Game Show 2024, with director Hideo Kojima possibly teasing a direct appearance. The announcement comes shortly after PlayStation was listed as a general exhibitor for the event, leading some to hope that Death Stranding 2 will potentially be shown off at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. However, that is in no way confirmed as of this writing.
The last trailer for Death Stranding 2 debuted during PlayStation's January State of Play. Although the near 10-minute trailer revealed a lot of information about the game, including story details and a 2025 release window, its cryptic, bizarre nature left fans with more questions than answers. Since then, many have been waiting to learn more about Death Stranding 2, but it's a toin coss on whether it'll be at TGS or not.

The studio isn't listed as a general exhibitor, though, which means fans should temper expectations. However, Hideo Kojima recently posted an image of Tokyo Game Show 2024 as well, meaning he may be attending in person as well.
Kojima Might Be Teasing an Appearance at Tokyo Game Show
Those familiar with Kojima know that the creator likes to tease fans by posting images of events where his games are featured. Before Death Stranding 2's previous trailer debuted in January, Kojima posted a State of Play image on his social media accounts. With Sony and Hideo Kojima attending the show, it would make sense to showcase a little of this game, alongside possible news like a solid release date, but all that is currently confirmed is Sony's a general exhibitor, Kojima Productions has a merchandise booth, and Kojima might make a personal appearance. Even if he does, that does not guarantee he'll bring news about Death Stranding 2 with him.
While anything related to TGS and Death Stranding 2 can be chalked up to conjecture at the moment, that's not likely to calm fans clamoring for more information. It's also worth noting that Kojima Productions has two other games in the works, either of which could take a stage at any time as well. Those are OD and Physint. The former is an experimental Xbox cloud game that was revealed in 2023, and the latter is a next-generation action-espionage title for PlayStation that is likely even further away. Ultimately, Kojima fans should consider tuning into Tokyo Game Show 2024 from September 26 to September 29.
