One of the new BRAVE weapons that players can acquire in Destiny 2's Into the Light update affords Guardians a ton of extra mobility if used correctly, but a hilarious clip circulating online demonstrates what happens when Guardians are careless with their grenade-jumps. The major free update that has recently come to Destiny 2 brings in a significant amount of new content for players to enjoy, and has contributed to a rapid resurgence in popularity for the game ahead of The Final Shape.
With the Witness' forces amassing on The Last City, Guardians are able to partake in Destiny 2's new Onslaught activity to defend the final bastion of humanity against up to 50 waves of enemies in an enemy-rich horde mode. Players won't have to rely on just their Light and arsenal of aging weapons to cut through the masses of adversaries though, as players can earn powerful new BRAVE weapons by participating in Onslaught. This selection of firearms includes a number of popular and fan-favorite weapons that have been hand-picked by Lord Shaxx for refurbishment, and feature guns such as The Recluse, Edge Transit, Forbearance, and The Mountaintop.
The Mountaintop is a pretty unique breech-loading grenade launcher in Destiny 2, as it allows players to grenade-jump to extreme heights and distances while dealing minimal self-damage. An entertaining clip shared online by a fan known as Gavin103982 shows that players are certainly still capable of blowing themselves up with The Mountaintop despite this perk, however. The clip shows an allied Guardian firing multiple grenades at a Snare Bomb on the ground, which traps the projectiles in a glitched state where they're unable to impact the ground. When this glitched state wears off, however, the multiple fired grenades detonate and instantly jettison the Guardian's corpse right back to the room's entrance.
Some players have gone wild with this new ability since the weapon was recently re-introduced as part of Destiny 2's BRAVE arsenal, and while enthusiasts of games such as Quake and Team Fortress 2 may have sharp grenade-jumping skills already, players do need to take care when using a grenade launcher as an alternate method of flight.
Destiny 2's Into the Light Update Still Has More to Give
The various new BRAVE weapons introduced with Destiny 2's Into the Light update have been released on a weekly basis, with the final two weapons — Luna's Howl and Blast Furnace — coming to the game on Tuesday. Fans of Destiny 2 will also be able to get started in the Pantheon game mode this week, which will allow players to battle through a gauntlet of the game's most infamous raid bosses.
