Jade is a hybrid Support/DPS unit with a penchant for AoE damage. She works well in a myriad of teams, especially those that already deal tons of area damage. This goes without saying that Jade performs extremely well in Pure Fiction, but with the right setup, she can be a strong pick in other game modes too.
Considering Jade's nature as both buffer and AoE damage dealer, she's best used as a sub-DPS. Jade doesn't do much damage alone, but when placed in the right group, she truly begins to shine. The following guide explores her best teams that take full advantage of her kit in Honkai: Star Rail.
Jade + Topaz + Dr. Ratio + Aventurine
A full team featuring the game's available IPC members (and affiliates) is unironically very strong, especially if the chosen game mode has some means of buffing Follow-Up Attacks. Topaz and Ratio can easily deal huge amounts of single-target damage. Meanwhile, Jade and Aventurine can deal with weaker targets or soften up stronger ones with their AoE attacks.
This team is best used in Honkai: Star Rail's Simulated Universe mode, where everything gets cranked up to 11. Pick the Erudition path and go ham with back-to-back Ultimates. Give Jade's buff to Aventurine — his AoE FUA will charge Jade's own FUA faster, resulting in more frequent attacks from Numby. Dr. Ratio can also benefit a lot from Jade's Debt Collector buff considering how often he can do his FUAs when his Ultimate is active.
Just as a refresher: Jade's FUA charges up based on how many enemies are hit by the Debt Collector, not how many times one enemy is hit with a single attack. Jade's Debt Collector buff also lasts for a set number of turns, not attacks.
Jade + Blade + Ruan Mei + Robin
Blade is an excellent DPS character to pair with Jade. If he becomes Jade's Debt Collector, Blade will gain two stacks of his passive whenever he attacks, allowing more frequent use of his Follow-Up Attack. This, in turn, means that Jade will be able to spam her own Follow-Up Attack, leading to a constant cycle of FUAs between the two. Meanwhile, Ruan Mei and Robin makes sure Blade and Jade deal as much damage as possible, making combat end sooner rather than later.
This is a general-use team that players can take anywhere and still see decent success. However, don't expect it to perform as well as some teams do for a game mode like Memory of Chaos.
Jade + Himeko + Herta + Aventurine
This is a Pure Fiction team that uses two of the game mode's most popular characters in Honkai: Star Rail. Himeko and Herta are very strong in any content that has players fighting off against waves of enemies, and while not all versions of Pure Fiction are ideal for them, they're still going to be very effective with Jade on the team.
Aventurine can be swapped out here for a different sustain unit, but as of writing, he's the best one in the roster for Jade since he also uses Follow-Up Attacks. Although, if you think you can live without shields or Effect RES, then Robin or Ruan Mei can easily take his spot.
