With Quick Swap, players won’t have to resort to the Weapon Wheel as often in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
With the release Mass Effect Legendary Edition in 2021, many players were able to return to a game that they once had fallen in love with, and others got the chance to try out for the very first time with improvements made to its graphics and gameplay. While Mass Effect's story is very appealing to fans, its gameplay is just as good.
Gamers will be busy getting to know the game's lore and character just as often as they'll find themselves on the battlefield. Understanding how weapons work is a major part of excelling in combat in Mass Effect Legendary Edition; this guide will teach players to use Quick Swap — a useful mechanic that allows players to quickly switch between two weapons.
How to Quick Swap Weapons
In Mass Effect, there are two wheels: the Weapon Wheel and the Power Wheel. Players can assign powers or ammo types to certain keyboard keys or controller buttons. However, that is not possible with weapons, which means they have to resort to using Quick Swap.
Quick Swap allows gamers to switch between weapons in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. In this game, it is only possible to Quick Swap with two weapons instead of rotating through Shepard's five chosen weapons. Here are the Quick Swap controls in Mass Effect Legendary Edition:
- Xbox controller: Press and hold X
- Playstation controller: Press and hold X
- Keyboard: Press X
While on console, fans have to hold down the Reload button to switch to their previously equipped weapon, on PC they simply have to press X.
Quickly switching between two weapons can be quite useful in combat. For example, if the player is using a Sniper Rifle to take down enemies at a distance, it can be quite handy to swap to a faster or a close-combat weapon right away. Here is how works on the battlefield:
