The v30.40 update for LEGO Fortnite introduces the anticipated fast travel feature and two additional vehicles, offering players a convenient way to traverse the island effortlessly. However, that's not all; this update also brings three additional toys that players can incorporate into their builds.
While Activated Balloons are one of the additional toys to debut in LEGO Fortnite, they are fairly useless without a Switch. This is where Pressure Plates come in — a unique switch that can be utilized in a variety of different ways.

Pressure Plates are a Switch that players can utilize to turn channels on and off by applying pressure.
To build a Pressure Plate, players will need 1 Wood and 1 Blast Powder. While Wood is relatively easy to find, Blast Powder is a bit harder to come by. Blast Powder can often be found within Chests throughout the LEGO Fortnite Island. However, it can also be dropped by Outlaw and Crossbones Skeletons, two Skeleton variants found in the Dry Valley and Shore biomes.
Once players have the necessary resources, they can build a Pressure Plate via the Build Menu.

As mentioned earlier, Pressure Plates are a means of channel control, capable of activating and deactivating channels similarly to Activation Switches. However, while an Activation Switch is controlled by players interacting with it, a Pressure Plate relies on pressure.
When pressure is applied to a Pressure Plate, the related channels will be turned on. When pressure is no longer applied, all channels will be switched off. Players can activate a Pressure Plate by standing on it or by placing structures like a Metal Crate over it.
With Pressure Plates remaining active as long as pressure is applied, they are an effective way to craft simple transportation pieces, such as makeshift elevators or one-way transport systems. This makes them a great toy to pair with Activated Balloons, which also debuted with the v30.40 update.
Much like other switches, players can control which channels are activated by the Pressure Plate by modifying its channels with a Wrench .
