LEGO Fortnite's v30.40 update brings a plethora of additional features into the game, from the ability to fast travel through Bus Stations to the debut of two vehicles that players can build. But that's not all, as players can now make use of three additional toys, two of which are switches.

One of these additional toys is the Trigger Plate, which functions as a means to activate other toys like Thrusters, making it a great addition to players' dynamic builds. While similar to an Activator Switch, the Trigger Plate has a unique feature that sets it apart from other switches players can use.

The Trigger Plate is a Switch used to activate and deactivate other toys like Activated Balloons and Thrusters.

To craft a Trigger Plate, players will need 1 Wood and 1 Blast Powder. For those unsure how to get Blast Powder, it is commonly dropped by Crossbones and Outlaw Skeletons in the Shore and Dry Valley biomes. It can also be found in containers like Chests throughout the world.

Once players have the necessary resources, they can build a Trigger Plate via the Build Menu.

As mentioned earlier, a Trigger Plate is a switch primarily used for channel control. It is similar to a Pressure Plate and can be activated by simply standing on it. However, the Trigger Plate has one major difference: constant pressure does not need to be applied for connected toys like Thrusters or Activated Balloons to remain active.

Players can walk over a Trigger Plate to turn its connected channels on, and they will stay on even after players move away from it. The Trigger Plate can also be turned off via the same method. This makes the Trigger Plate a more ideal version of the Pressure Plate, suitable for a variety of builds such as hot air balloons and other simple forms of transport when paired with Activated Balloons.

Try using a Wrench on a Trigger Plate to alter the channels it can activate.
