Lethal Company Reveals Version 55 Update Patch Notes

Highlights

  • Lethal Company Version 55 adds the game's first vehicle and two new enemies.
  • The update also fixes several bugs, including one that would softlock a player trying to access an occupied terminal at the same time as another player.
  • Changes were also made to the Dine, Artifice, Rend, and Embrion maps.

After a slight delay, Lethal Company has released its highly anticipated Version 55 update, which added the first vehicle to the game. Alongside the Company Cruiser truck, Lethal Company Version 55 also adds two new enemies—the Barber and the Kidnapper Fox—and brings numerous bug fixes and improvements.

Following its release in October 2023, Lethal Company quickly became one of the most successful indie titles on Steam. Developed and published by Zeekerss, Lethal Company still retains an overwhelmingly positive rating on the digital storefront at the time of writing. As employees of the titular Lethal Company, players are tasked with collecting scrap from different planets to meet a quota and must avoid the hazards and enemies that bar their way. Although the game has official support for up to four players via online co-op, mods have allowed that number to be increased, bringing more chaos into the mix. As a result of its popularity, Lethal Company recently collaborated with Fortnite, adding "The Employee" outfit to Epic Games' signature title.

The release of Lethal Company Version 55 was pushed back from its target date of June 25, and the update officially landed on July 7 after a two-week delay. According to the patch notes, Lethal Company added the game's first vehicle, a moving truck dubbed the Company Cruiser. This truck can be driven by one player and can haul other players and scrap to and from the Company Ship. However, the Company Cruiser can also be attacked by enemies, take damage from hazards, and potentially explode and kill everyone aboard. In addition to the Company Cruiser, Lethal Company also included two new enemy entities in the patch for players to avoid.

Lethal Company Version 55 also addressed some desync problems related to the Nutcracker enemy and mechs. Issues related to inconsistent damage numbers on weapons were also remedied, along with a fix for a bug that would softlock a player trying to access an occupied terminal at the same time as another player. According to the expanded patch notes, courtesy of ComicBook, the Jetpack saw its price change from 700c to 900c, and changes were made to the Dine, Artifice, Rend, and Embrion maps.

With ongoing mod support and fans eager to return with each update, Lethal Company continues to be one of Steam's top indie titles. With updates looking to come out at a faster pace, only time will tell what Zeekerss will add in future patches.
