Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is a remastered version of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, originally released for the 3DS. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD includes several improvements compared to the original, Dark Moon. However, besides a few quality-of-life improvements and some graphic enhancements, many of its features remain the same, as the game ran pretty smoothly back then already.
Fans returning to the game will be familiar with many of its mechanics and features. Nevertheless, whether gamers are playing Luigi's Mansion 2 for the first time or coming back to it after a few years, this guide will help them figure out how the save feature works and how to delete a save file they'd like to get rid of.
How to Save
In the original 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion 2, there was no save button, as it saved automatically. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD works exactly the same way, so gamers don't have to manually save it.
While playing the Dark Moon Quest, the auto-save feature in Luigi's Mansion 2 makes sure that it saves the player's data after they complete a mission. This means that if they have to quit the game mid-mission, they will lose their progress and have to start over.
There is no way to save players' progress in the ScareScraper mode. In this case, the game saves when the player completes a run successfully or unsuccessfully.
How to Erase Save Data
Close
To erase a save file in Luigi's Mansion 2, gamers will have to do it from the title screen. So, if they're currently playing the game, they'll have to press B to go back and select "Quit to Title." Next, they have to select the file they'd like to remove from the game and then press "delete." A confirmation prompt will then appear on the screen in case players misclicked the button.
- Go to the Title Screen
- Select save file 1, 2, or 3
- Press "Delete"
- Press "Delete Save Data"
Once a save file has been deleted in Luigi's Mansion 2, it cannot be recovered, so this decision is final.
In the original version of the game, players could completely reset the game and delete all files at once by pressing down on A, B, X, and Y simultaneously. However, that is not possible in the Nintendo Switch version of Luigi's Mansion 2 .
