Misery joined Marvel Snap as a new On Reveal card that can retrigger other cards’ On Reveal effects in her lane before destroying them. Initially, based on her description, Misery seemed like the ideal fit for mill decks. However, recent data shows she can also be a strong player in other archetypes as well.
In the following Marvel Snap deck, Misery is used alongside Thanos, doubling the effect of his stones while keeping the board clear. The guide also includes a mill version of Misery decks for players looking to leverage her disruptive capabilities.

The Best Deck for Misery
While Misery has a solid synergy within the mill archetype, she performs best in a Thanos deck. This is because she can double the effect of Thanos’ stones while also clearing them from the board, allowing for the play of more powerful cards. To replicate this setup, pair Misery and Thanos with the following cards: Death, Killmonger, Mockingbird, Nova, Yondu, Angel, Shang-Chi, Lady Deathstrike, Cull Obsidian, and The Hood.

Misery Deck Synergies Explained
- Misery doubles the On Reveal effects on the board and clears out board-clogging cards.
- Killmonger and Lady Deathstrike serve as backup options to clear the board if Misery isn’t drawn.
- Death, Thanos, Mockingbird, and Cull Obsidian act as win conditions that benefit from destruction and On Reveal effects.
- Nova, Yondu, and The Hood are disruption cards that can be destroyed after their On Reveal effects. (Angel can potentially replace any of these destroyed cards, adding extra Power to the board.)
- Shang-Chi is the tech card.
How to Play Misery in a Mill Deck
To create a mill deck for Misery, pair her with cards like Yondu, Cable, Gladiator, Scorpion, White Widow, Doctor Octopus, and Baron Zemo. The goal of a mill deck is to limit your opponent’s draws and manipulate their hand as much as possible. If you choose this strategy, ensure you include Knull as your win condition, as he synergizes well with the mill archetype.
If no On Reveal cards are in the lane, Misery won’t destroy anything. Additionally, if cards like Armor are present, Misery can only retrigger other cards’ abilities without destroying them.
How to Counter Misery
Close
A combination of Armor and Cosmo can effectively nullify Misery. However, since most Misery decks benefit from buff options like Knull, countering her with Shadow King is also a smart choice. He can reset any buffed card’s stats, minimizing Misery’s impact on the board.
Is Misery Worth It?
Misery’s performance has exceeded expectations, but she remains a skippable card, as she is primarily a niche option for destroy or mill decks. If resources aren’t a concern, you can consider Misery as a cheaper alternative to Odin for On Reveal-heavy decks that benefit from destruction or disruption. However, if you’re low on resources, it’s advisable to focus on more practical cards that are set to be released.
