It has produced a number of Metal Gear Solid2: Sons of Liberty figures in the past, including a figure of the game's protagonist, Raiden.

Metal Gear Solid has seen renewed interest lately thanks to the upcoming remake of Snake Eater. A trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was shown at Xbox Games Showcase, showcasing the remake's gameplay. Based on what's been shown so far, Metal Gear Solid Delta is a faithful remake of Snake Eater built from the ground up. In addition to Delta: Snake Eater, a collection of the first three Metal Gear Solid games was recently released, introducing the franchise to a new audience of gamers and letting audiences play the games on modern consoles easier than ever.

With the newfound excitement for the Metal Gear Solid series, GoodSmile Company has unveiled a prototype image of a new figure of protagonist and fan favorite character Solid Snake. This figure is based off of his appearance in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The figure is a part of GoodSmile's "Figma" line and appears to be an updated version of its previous Solid Snake figure. This version of Solid Snake features a brighter color scheme than the original figure as well as a new head sculpt that makes the figure better resemble the grizzled soldier.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Solid Snake Figma Action Figure

There has never been a better time for new players to get into the Metal Gear Solid series. Gamers can finally play the first three games on all modern consoles, as well as the PC. Konami plans to release more Metal Gear games in a second Master Collection entry, though what games will be included is yet to be revealed.

Until a second Master Collection is released, the only way to play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is still on PS3. Other entries in the series are also still stuck on old hardware with no easy way for newcomers to play them. This is especially problematic because the story and timeline of Metal Gear is extremely intricate. Even still, Metal Gear Solid is more accessible now than it has ever been in the past, and with the Snake Eater remake on the horizon, now is a great time for new players to experience the saga of Solid Snake.
