Bandai Namco has announced a new action RPG in the form of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles. Based on a popular fantasy light novel series, the upcoming Bandai Namco title is scheduled to reach PC and consoles in summer 2024.
Written by a mystery author known only as Fuse, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime started out as an isekai web novel that ran for a three-year period ending in early 2016. The series received a manga adaptation in 2015, in addition to spawning over half a dozen spin-off mangas over the following nine years. It was also used as a basis for several anime shows, the first of which debuted in 2018.
New 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' Game Launches August 8
That list of media adaptations will soon expand to include an officially licensed video game published by Japanese gaming giant Bandai Namco. Called That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles, the upcoming title is being developed by Zoc and Monkeycraft. Behind its wordy name is a side-scrolling action RPG that is largely based on the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime. The game is scheduled to hit the market on August 8, with Bandai Namco planning to release it on nearly every mainstream gaming platform: the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
