Nintendo Finally Confirms Date and Time for Big June 2024 Nintendo Direct

As announced by Nintendo, the June 2024 Nintendo Direct will take place on Tuesday, June 18 at 7am PT. With Summer Game Fest over and PlayStation and Xbox having already hosted their annual E3-time showcases, fans have been eagerly waiting for Nintendo to throw its hat in the ring. After all, the second half of 2024 is currently bare for Nintendo, and so the company assuredly has some big announcements waiting in the wings.

A couple of months ago, Nintendo confirmed that it would be hosting a Nintendo Direct event in June 2024 that would focus on games coming to the Nintendo Switch. When it announced the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, the company stressed that the event would not include any mention of the Switch Successor console. Nintendo reiterated that in its latest announcement, confirming that the June 2024 Nintendo Direct will not mention the Switch successor console at all.

The big June 2024 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, June 18 at 7am PT will include "roughly 40 minutes" of games coming to the Nintendo Switch in the second half of 2024. And while the event will not include the Switch successor, it is definitely possible that games coming in 2025 will be shown as well, even if the second half of 2024 is the main focus of the presentation.

As for what games Nintendo fans can expect to see at the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, that remains to be seen. Persistent rumors have suggested that Switch ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD are on the way, not to mention ports for Metroid Prime 2 and 3. There's also hope that Metroid Prime 4 could show up at the event, especially since it's been a whopping seven years since the game was first announced, and it still has yet to reveal any gameplay.

It's possible Pokemon fans will get a new look at 2025's Pokemon Legends: Z-A at the Nintendo Direct, but it's also possible news on that game will be reserved for special Pokemon Presents events. Of course, Hollow Knight fans will hold out hope that Silksong will make an appearance, but they shouldn't hold their breath. There's some evidence to suggest that a Beyond Good & Evil re-release could shadow drop at the show, but that remains to be seen as well.

Ultimately, Nintendo fans will just have to tune in to the June 2024 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, June 18 at 7am PT to see what Nintendo has in store for the Switch in the second half of 2024 and beyond.
