Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate was originally released as an Apple Arcade exclusive. The roguelike TMNT game was very well-received on Apple Arcade, but now more franchise fans will have the chance to play it as Splintered Fate is finally branching out to other platforms.
The first stop for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is the Nintendo Switch. TMNT: Splintered Fate was confirmed for Nintendo Switch earlier this year, locking down a July 17 release date. With the game's release date just one week away, 4-player local co-op has now been confirmed for the title's Switch debut.
TMNT: Splintered Fate is adding local co-op in response to fan demand for the feature. There is a long history of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games on consoles boasting co-op support, and so it's only natural for Splintered Fate to carry on that tradition. The Nintendo Switch version will also have better graphics when compared to the Apple Arcade original, improved sound, and controls that are optimized with the Nintendo Switch in mind. Presumably, the Nintendo Switch version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate will also support online co-op, a feature already available in the Apple Arcade release.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate Will Have 4-Player Local Co-Op on Switch
TMNT: Splintered Fate is a timed Switch exclusive for consoles, but it is expected to make its way to other platforms at some point down the line. It remains to be seen exactly how long the game will remain Switch console exclusive, but in the meantime, a PC version has been confirmed for release later in 2024. A specific release date is not available at the time of this writing, but there are plans to bring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate to Steam. It's likely that the Steam version will retain all the features found in the Switch release, including local co-op.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate's roguelike approach offers a fresh twist on TMNT video game action. The game was very well-received on Apple Arcade, and it will be exciting to see how it fares on consoles. The addition of 4-player local co-op support should go a long way in boosting interest in the game and could ensure that it's just as popular on consoles as it was on Apple Arcade. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans will find out how the Switch port stacks up come its July 17 launch.
