The Prime Gaming rewards for Overwatch 2 have been removed from the Amazon Prime Gaming website. Overwatch 2 has long been a part of the reward program for Prime Gaming, offering in-game rewards and even skins, but that collaboration may be coming to an end.
Even as recently as January this year, players of Overwatch 2 could receive limited skins through Prime Gaming. The program offers a myriad of rewards for gamers, ranging from free games, a monthly Twitch subscription, and in-game rewards. The use of Prime Gaming to offer in-game rewards has long acted as a reward system for users of Amazon Prime, but in recent months, these have been diminishing.
As reported by Dexerto, Overwatch 2 is noticeably vacant from the Amazon Prime Gaming website, where it had previously sat. There have been no confirmation notes nor official statements from either Blizzard or Amazon, leaving many fans confused about the removal and speculating whether it was intentional to begin with. Overwatch 2 season 12 is set to begin sometime in August, and while that would have been a good time for another Amazon Prime drop, it seems that may not be the case.
Overwatch 2 Silently Dropped from Amazon Prime Gaming Rewards Website
Overwatch 2 is not the only major game to be dropped by Amazon in recent months. Destiny 2 support came to an end earlier this year, and Amazon also ended its collaboration with Riot Games in late 2023. This resulted in Valorant and League of Legends also being dropped from Prime Gaming in the same month. In both of these cases, the teams behind the games came forward with the news, so if Overwatch 2 has been removed from the Prime Gaming rewards as many suspect, fans can expect a message from Blizzard in the coming days.
Nothing has been confirmed on either side yet, but the removal of Overwatch 2 from the main website is likely a strong indicator that the collaboration between Amazon and Blizzard has ended. While the removal of Prime Gaming rewards will likely be disappointing, fans of Overwatch 2 are not left wanting for content. The Transformers crossover event will begin soon, as well as Overwatch 2's annual Summer Games event, adding new cosmetics and limited-time events for players to enjoy.
