If you want to play the Hotpot mini-game in Palia, you will need to make your way to The Underground. This is a hidden location in the sewers beneath the map of Kilima Valley.
To reach this area, start by heading to the southern area of the map near Remembrance Beach. The entrance to the sewers will be at the spot marked on the map image above, just at the end of the map near the ocean. Approach the entrance, and make your way to the back of The Underground, where you'll find a restaurant area with Reth cooking in the back and a bunch of hotpots out front. Approach one of these to begin a game.

The rules of the Hotpot mini-game are quite simple. Basically, you will need to make three sets of three tiles by either drawing a new tile or claiming one of the discarded tiles from another player. The three sets will need to match each other based on the type of food they are, such as:
- Mauve for Noodles
- Purple for Mushrooms
- Yellow for Crops
- Orange for Foraged Items
- Red for Meat
- Green for Green Vegetables
- Blue for Seafood
- Gray for Others
Each tile will have a coloraround it that will indicate to you which category the food is under. You will need to match these colors with each set, but you will get bonus points if you have exactmatches, such as three Mountain Morels rather than a mixture of different mushrooms. However, if you have two matching tiles, like two Mountain Morels, and one from the same group but a different tile, like a Brightshroom, you won't get any points.
To win the game, you will want to do your best to get exact matching tiles, like three Mountain Morels as we mentioned before. You'll get many more points out of this. The best strategy here is to keep watch over the tiles that other players discard and see if you can find any that match what you already have. If not, pick up a new tile and see if there are any exact matches.
If you don't have any exact matches, but the new card fits into one of the tile groups, it is best to keep it, unless it disrupts your chances of getting a perfect match. Remember to check your own discarded tiles as well to see if any pieces match your current hand. Remember, you can only play this game in The Underground at nighttime, from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
