A talented Pokemon fan created a plush toy of Shiny Rockruff. Known as the "Puppy Pokemon," this Rock-type Pokemon from Gen 7 is described as friendly when it's young, but becomes more vicious when it evolves into Lycanroc. But even when it's being vicious, Rockruff is said to stay loyal to its master.
Rockruff has a unique evolutionary line, as it can turn into different forms of Lycanroc depending on what time it evolves. Lycanroc's Midday Form (evolved during the day) has light brown fur and is described as "calm and collected," which is a stark contrast from the vicious red-furred Midnight Form (evolved during the night). Meanwhile, the orange-furred Dusk Form is described as both having calm and vicious qualities. Rockruff and Lycanroc's distinct appearances stand out even more in their Shiny forms.
One Pokemon fan called AnnushkaToys recently created a sizable plushie of Shiny Rockruff, which has sky blue and white fur with green eyes. The stuffed toy shows Rockruff having a determined look similar to its video game and animated version. Earlier this year, Shiny Rockruff was one of the featured Pokemon in Pokemon GO's Lustrous Odyssey event, along with Midday Lycanroc and Midnight Lycanroc.
Pokemon Fan's Shiny Rockruff Plushie Draws Interesting Comparisons
In the comments under AnnushkaToys' Reddit post, many Pokemon fans found the Shiny Rockruff toy adorable, with some saying that it looked like the popular cartoon dogs Bluey and Blue. The plushie creator also asked in their post if fellow Pokemon fans would like to see Rockruff in different colors, and a number of them said that the Pokemon would look great in shades like purple, pink, and red.
Pokemon has a wide range of official merchandise and collaborations for plush toys. The franchise has famously collaborated with Squishmallows to create adorable toys of popular characters. The most recent Pokemon Squishmallows are Dragonite and Marill, which were revealed just last April. Now with nine Generations and over 1,000 monsters, Pokemon fans can expect more stuffed toys to come out in the coming years.
Meanwhile, many Pokemon fans like AnnushkaToys have taken it upon themselves to create plushies of their favorite characters. In the past, one Pokemon fan crocheted a giant Mewtwo doll, which took a lot of hours to finish; while another hardworking fan made plushies of Eevee and its Eeveelutions. This just shows Pokemon's enduring popularity, which will continue to grow as it releases new content and characters, especially with Pokemon Legends: Z-A just on the horizon.
