A Pokemon fan has shared several unique pies they created based on Caterpie. The charming Pokemon pie designs are largely based on the pun Cater-pie, and the finished products look delicious.
Caterpie is a Gen 1 Pokemon that hasn't changed a whole lot over the years. Its final evolution, Butterfree, did receive a Gigantamax version, but the base form has remained more or less the same. Despite this, Caterpie has remained fairly well-known in the community, not only for its strong presence in the original Pokemon anime, but due to its prevalence in many wild regions. While the initial form of Caterpie may not be very strong in terms of combat, its cute design and giant eyes have helped it to gain a lasting appeal with Pokemon fans.
Now, Pokemon fan and baker miscellaneousmao has created several mini-pies based off of Caterpie, which they've dubbed Cater-pies. The confections are brownie pies, with pie crust cut, shaped, and applied to the top to give each one a Caterpie all its own. Eagle-eyed fans will likely notice that there's variation among the designs. For example, one Caterpie has a Poke Ball nested on leaves, while another has a Net Ball in its place. There's also a shiny Caterpie, which is not only colored differently but has its trademark sparkles, and a a cute cowboy Caterpie, complete with hat and lasso.
Pokemon Fans Love Caterpie (and Cater-Pies)
Fans in the comments have been extremely enthusiastic about the Cater-pies. Fans seemed particularly charmed by the effort the artist put into making so many unique variations on the basic design. One said it was the first time they had ever wanted to eat a Pokemon like Caterpie, to which another pondered whether Caterpies are ever eaten in the games or overall Pokemon universe. Another seemed horrified by the last image, which is missing about half the pie — and its shiny Caterpie — so fans can see a cross-section.
Pokemon confections are just one of many ways that fans of the franchise continue to celebrate their favorites. The artist is no stranger to these kinds of creations, as they've previously made all kinds of Pokemon treats, ranging from things like Togepi cakes to Eiscue hot cocoa bombs. Seeing their skills put to work to turn fans' favorites into edible treats always seems to delight players, and with so many Pokemon to choose from, it would appear that miscellaneousmao still has ideas.
