- Sony confirms lineup for PS Plus Extra games in July 2024.
- Remnant 2 and Crisis Core FF7 Reunion stand out as top picks for July 2024.
- Deadcraft, Steep, and The Jackbox Party Pack 9 also join the lineup, among other titles.
Following a leak that turned out to be almost 100% accurate, Sony has officially confirmed the new games coming to the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service in July 2024. As expected, the new PlayStation Plus Extra games will be added to the lineup this coming Tuesday, July 16.
Prior to Sony making the official announcement about the new PS Plus Extra games for July 2024, six of the games leaked online. The PS Plus Extra July 2024 leak accurately predictedCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, No More Heroes 3, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Remnant 2, and Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, though it was wrong about Remnant: From the Ashes being part of the line-up as well (the leak did include a note that they weren't 100% sure about that particular entry, however). Those six games have now been officially confirmed, and we also know what else is coming to PS Plus Extra in July 2024 as well.
Joining the previously mentioned titles in the PS Plus Extra July 2024 lineup are Deadcraft, Steep, and The Jackbox Party Pack 9, bringing the grand total of new games to nine. It should be pointed out that almost all the games can be played on both PS4 and PS5 thanks to PS5's backward compatibility, with Remnant 2 being the exception. A PS4 version of Remnant 2 doesn't exist, so those interested in playing it through their PS Plus Extra subscription will need to have upgraded to Sony's latest console.

As always, there are some standout new games when it comes to the PS Plus Extra games for July 2024. The headliner is arguably Remnant 2. Remnant 2 is a co-op Soulslike that originally released in 2023 and earned mostly positive reviews in the process. Considered by many to be a worthy follow-up to the well-received Remnant: From the Ashes, Remnant 2 joining the PS Plus Extra lineup could prove to be a major shot in the arm for the game.
The other game that's likely to turn the most heads is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. The Final Fantasy franchise is forever linked to the PlayStation brand, but Final Fantasy 7 and its spin-off games especially. Crisis Core serves as a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 and is a must-play for FF7 enthusiasts. This new version of the game offers improved graphics and other enhancements that were not available in the original PSP release. It, and the other new PS Plus Extra games for July 2024, will all be available to subscribers starting Tuesday, July 16.
