A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is potentially teasing the in-game appearance of the playable version of Sunday, currently expected to launch later in the Penacony cycle. While HoYoverse looks to wrap up the story of its newest world, the debut of Penacony has brought plenty of new characters to the sci-fi RPG's playable cast. Characters like Acheron, Sparkle, and Aventurine have made a major impact on the game's meta, while others like Black Swan and Firefly have quickly become fan-favorites. Now, one of Penacony's most beloved characters is being teased.
While he has yet to make his playable debut, Sunday has already become one of the most memorable members of Honkai: Star Rail's Penacony cast for many fans. Players are first introduced to Sunday shortly after arriving on Penacony, and the head of the Oak Family plays a major role throughout the world's main story. Sunday also appears as the main "Echo of War" boss for Penacony, serving as one of the major climaxes to the story of Honkai: Star Rail's third playable world. Now, his appearance as a playable character is once again being hinted.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Hinting at Sunday's Playable Appearance
A recent leak shared to the Honkai: Star Rail leaks subreddit via leaker Seele Leaks is teasing the major changes to Sunday's playable appearance. According to the update, Sunday's attire will sport significant changes, swapping his original outfit for a multi-colored coat with white and gold on the left and blue and white on the right. Sunday will also flaunt a short gold cape with other accessory changes, like black gloves, dark blue and black boots, and a badge on his collar. Sunday is currently rumored to be releasing with Version 2.7.
While Sunday's newest leaks cover how the character's appearance will change, past leaks have touched on how Sunday may play in Honkai: Star Rail. Previous leaks have hinted that Sunday will be an Imaginary character in the Harmony Path with his playable debut in Honkai: Star Rail. The combination of Element and Path would notably see Sunday sporting the same character typing as the most recent incarnation of the Trailblazer, released during Version 2.2. HoYoverse has yet to officially confirm any details about Sunday's playable release.
The rumors about Sunday's playability in Honkai: Star Rail come as HoYoverse has already revealed the next characters set to join the RPG. Version 2.4 will welcome two brand-new five-star characters to the game, with Xianzhou Luofu characters Jiaoqiu and Yunli coming to the RPG's roster. The update will also debut the long-rumored new form of March 7th, seeing the starter character shift into the Hunt Path with her new variant. Though Sunday's release may be a long ways off, fans should have plenty of reason to be excited for his debut in Honkai: Star Rail.
