  • Ubisoft's plans for the spin-off game suggest that fans will receive updates about the reported changes in the following months.

Debunking certain speculations, an insider confirmed that Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland has gone through notable changes. Until now, an extended period of little to no updates for The DivisionHeartland had the fans worried about the game's fate.

The Division has quickly established itself as one of the key IPs owned by publisher Ubisoft, alongside franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Prince of Persia, and more. After shipping two mainline entries, The Division and The Division 2, Ubisoft is now preparing to add a mobile game called The Division Resurgence and a multi-platform spin-off game, The Division Heartland, to the franchise. While Resurgence is expected to release in 2024, Heartland is also reportedly in the pipeline despite having gone through major tweaks.

According to Tom Henderson’s tweet, rumors of The Division Heartland being canceled are false as the title is still in development at Red Storm Entertainment. Further, he added that Heartland has changed a lot since its announcement in 2021, highlighting the incorporation of “some significant changes.” In the comments, several users noted the game’s underwhelming quality during its d beta and hoped that the reported changes would improve the game.

The Division Fans Are Still Waiting on Heartland's Release Date

Since it was first announced, fans have been eagerly waiting for The Division Heartland to get an official release date. Even though there is no word from Ubisoft on the game's release date yet, there had still been a stream of official information coming in to keep refueling fans' interest till last year. Despite keen onlookers spotting Heartland’s ESRB rating not too long ago, the French publisher hasn't shared an update about the spin-off game in several months. Worryingly, the game is also set to complete three years since its announcement but still has no release window in sight.

With the developer reportedly making big changes to the project in recent months, fans could expect to see fresh details emerge about Heartland in the near future. Moreover, since these changes have been called "significant," fans upset with the game's beta phase may see noticeable improvements in key areas where it was lagging before. Importantly, since the game has been reported to still be a part of Ubisoft's plans, chances are fans will soon find out more about these changes in the following months. Such information could potentially be revealed at a Ubisoft Forward stream or at a gaming expo scheduled for later this year.
