Stan and Ves are known as the Tinkering Siblings and will enable you to use the Spino Workshop after you acquire them. However, during your Sand Land playthrough you will only be able to choose one of these characters to recruit, so knowing how to do so and which one of them you should pick will enable you to unlock this facility as soon as possible.
How to Get Stan or Ves in Sand Land
To recruit Stan or Ves as a resident of Spino in Land Sand, you will need to complete the Tinkering Siblings side quest. However, before you can initiate this side quest, there are a few notable objectives that you must complete beforehand, as doing so will trigger the necessary events to prompt the Tinkering Siblings quest from Mayor Tor in Spino. The objectives that must be completed for Tinkering Siblings to become an available side quest area follows:
Main Quests
Side Quests
- Task From Mayor Tor
- Desert Soldier
- Lost Peddler
- Suspicious Cave
After you have completed all of these objectives, you will need to return to Spino and speak to Mayor Tor. He will task you with a quest that will send you off to Talbo. After arriving in this settlement, you will need to find and speak to Stan, and following this conversation, locate some Puraptor Scales. These can be farmed as a drop from Puraptors, silver-colored dinosaur-like creatures known to roam various areas of the lands.
The best place to quickly acquire this material is from Raptor Cave, so if you need some extra assistance in finding this location, then feel free to refer to the map screenshot below, where it has been identified with an orange marker.
After obtaining some Puraptor Scales, you will need to return to Talbo and speak to Stan again, who will show off his craftmanship on the Puraptor Scale. Following this, you will also need to speak to Ves and give her the rest of the Scales one by one between dialogues and attempts at perfecting her creation. Once both creations are done, you will have the difficult decision to make regarding which sibling you wish to make a permanent resident of Spino.
Which Tinkering Sibling Should You Pick in Sand Land?
When it comes to choosing a sibling to move to Spino as a permanent resident to operate the Workshop, it's important to note that the choice you make will have zero effect on your gameplay, the way the Workshop operates, or the items that can be crafted from this facility. For this reason, choosing between Ves and Stan comes down to nothing other than personal preference.
On one hand, Stan didn't seem the least bit interested in voluntarily moving to Spino, yet excels in craftmanship. On the other hand, Ves took a little bit longer to complete her product, but was very eager to make a new life in Spino, bringing much enthusiasm to the table — the choice is yours!
