Descenders Next has been confirmed as a day one Xbox Game Pass game releasing in 2025. While most Xbox Game Pass subscribers are likely keeping their attention on the games coming in the near future, there are certainly others who are counting down the days to the titles that are coming to the service in 2025.
Various announcements have ensured that the Xbox Game Pass 2025 lineup is already looking pretty solid. Just recently, Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed was delayed to 2025, which somewhat hurts the Game Pass 2024 lineup, but also gives 2025 a significant boost. Now Xbox Game Pass subscribers have yet another new game to look forward to in 2025, and it's a title that has a ton of promise.
Descenders Next is the sequel to 2019's Descenders, which is an extreme sports biking game that was originally released 2019. Descenders earned mostly positive reviews from critics and was a big hit with fans, earning an impressive "Overwhelmingly Positive" overall rating on Steam. Descenders Next looks to provide a similar experience, but will have players snowboarding and mountainboarding instead of biking. The game will offer online multiplayer support, a variety of biomes to explore, and a handful of different game modes for players to check out once it launches in 2025.

Descenders Next is just the latest game confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass 2025 lineup so far. As mentioned previously, Avowed is on deck for Xbox Game Pass in 2025, set to launch on February 18 of next year. It will be joined by heavy hitters like the new Fable game from Playground Games, the unique action-adventure game South of Midnight, the jaw-dropping Expedition 33, and the action-packed Doom: The Dark Ages. Assuming all of these games release in 2025 as expected, next year should be massive for the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Of course, there are plenty of new Xbox Game Pass games to look forward to in the more immediate future as well. Microsoft just recently revealed the Xbox Game Pass August 2024 Wave 1 lineup, plus there are some other big games coming this fall. In the months ahead, Game Pass subscribers have games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and STALKER 2 to look forward to, along with many others. Of course, some games will leave Xbox Game Pass these next few months as well, but there should be far more new additions than there are departures.
