Stardew Valley Player Shows Off ‘Secret Lounge’

A secret hideaway location in Stardew Valley can be built in one place players may not expect, because it’s somewhere they don’t tend to go.

Stardew Valley Player Shows Off 'Secret Lounge'

One Stardew Valley player has found a clever place to build a "secret lounge" in Pelican Town. While Stardew Valley allows players to place objects almost anywhere in the town, one area that seems to be overlooked by many players is the tunnel next to the bus stop, where this secret lounge resides.

Customization of the player's home and its surrounding areas around the farm are one of the aspects that gives Stardew Valley its charm, but players aren't limited to building within the confines of their own property lines. A wide variety of objects can be placed almost anywhere within the game's playable world, and Stardew Valley players have found clever places to store objects like crystalariums to free up more space on their farm for other profitable ventures.

In this case, though, one player has utilized the tunnel out of town for purely aesthetic and immersive purposes, creating their own secret hideaway just to the right of the exit gate. The design, posted on Reddit by user Boremi10, includes a lot of rare and late-game items, like the Monster Fireplace, which can only be purchased from Krobus' Shop for 20,000g, and a Purple Serpent Statue, which can only be acquired by winning it from the Stardew Valley movie theater's crane game during fall. While it may not serve a purpose as far as making money or generating resources, others fans of the game seem impressed with the player's innovation in setting up a cozy little hideaway.

Finding Safe Places To Build Outside The Farm

One of the challenges of placing items outside the farm in Stardew Valley is that any NPCs walking through the space that the object takes up will generally cause that object to be destroyed, so it's important for players to choose a safe and secluded space if they're building outside their borders. Since the residents of Pelican Town each follow a regular routine based on the season and day of the week, this can lead to problems, as players can lose items they've invested a lot of money or resources in. Fortunately, no one is ever seen walking inside the tunnel, although Linus' blackberry basket can be found just outside the entrance once he gives out the quest to find it.

Still, some players have shown concern that, story-wise, the lounge is blocking the roadway out of town, as all of the furniture and decorations are clearly on the blacktop, with the dotted line visible right down the center. Getting the bus running again by completing collections at the Community Center is a big part of Pam's storyline, as getting her job back seems to help Pam improve her relationship with Penny.
