The hidden gift in the Wasteland turned out to be an underwater chest that will help you catch bigger fish in Stellar Blade.
Exploring the Wasteland is a lot of work as the area is incredibly large, filled with many sub-areas in Stellar Blade. While running around, you may stumble upon a chest or two that can't be opened until later in the game, and it so happens that the underwater chest in the Wasteland is one of them.
While some chests require solving a puzzle or get decoded by the drone in Stellar Blade, there are some that require a passcode made up of symbols or numbers. It’s impossible to try to guess the passcode by entering normal symbols/numbers randomly, so Angels need to trigger a certain quest to obtain the passcode.
How To Open The Wasteland Underwater Chest In Stellar Blade
To open the Wasteland underwater chest in Stellar Blade, you need to trigger the A Gift for a Fishing Maniac quest from the Bulletin Board in Xion. This quest will be the fourth fishing-themed quest, so you must complete the three previous quests, which are:
- Wife’s Water Tank: Use small shrimp to catch a Porcupinefish in the Oasis.
- An Unforgettable Fish Dish: Use the wriggling bait to catch a Channel Catfish in the pond near the Wasteland entrance, or the pond inside the hidden cave near the solar tower.
- Fish Research: Use fish slice to catch a Halibut in the pond near the clock tower in Eidos 7.
Once all the fishing quests are complete, head to the Bulletin Board and accept the A Gift for a Fishing Maniac quest. The quest giver explains that their father was obsessed with fishing and left a chest inside a hidden cave near the solar tower in the Wasteland. They also give the passcode, which is 0508.

To find the chest mentioned by the quest giver, go to the Wasteland and use the Supply Camp to fast-travel to the one near the solar tower. Head right, down the slope, and run straight while ignoring enemies to climb another slope to the right. You can ignore the enemies on the hill or run straight through the cave entrance to the left.

Jump onto the lower rock to the right and scan the area to locate the underwater chest. Swim down and use the passcode to receive the Best Fishing Data, which improves fishing skills. Completing the A Gift for a Fishing Maniac quest rewards players with 5,000 Gold upon marking it as complete on the Bulletin Board.
