The long-running Torchlight franchise has seen multiple entries from several different developers, taking a similar top-down action RPG approach to games like Diablo 4 and Last Epoch. The launch of Torchlight: Infinite would even see the franchise shift into a fully free-to-play model to entice more players. Popular aggregation website SteamDB showcases a colossal jump in the game's player count, boasting over 10,000 players at its peak within the last 24 hours. The spike is largely credited to the debut of Torchlight: Infinite's newest season, "Whispering Mist," which added more story content and a new Hero in Cateye Erika. Torchlight: Infinite saw its all-time peak in October 2022, with over 20,000 players following the release of the game's open beta.
Torchlight: Infinite's newfound success comes alongside a plethora of rewards coming for players as part of the game's first anniversary. Infinite is featuring a login campaign during the anniversary celebration, with daily rewards granting Jagged Primocrysts and Appearance Boon Coupons for Torchlight: Infinite's Pactspirit gacha system. XD Inc. is also rolling out several quality-of-life upgrades for Torchlight: Infinite alongside the new season, making changes to the game's skill bar and progression in the main story. Multiple changes were also made to Torchlight: Infinite's endgame content, adding a new mode with "Trial of Divinity."
