World of Goo 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the puzzle game World of Goo, originally released back in 2008. The game, just like the original, requires players to use cute gooey characters to build a strong bridge or structure to the end goal of each level. Each level has a number of additional challenges to be completed as well if you so choose.
The game, though initially seeming quite simple, can be difficult to complete, and takes a bit of time to successfully finish the puzzle in all levels. Keep reading to learn more about how long the game will take to complete, including additional content and challenges.

As you begin your adventure through World of Goo 2, you will notice that there is a total of 5 new chapters to take on, with a total of 60 levels. This is a decent increase from the original physics puzzle game World of Goo, which had 48 levels. Though this seems like a lot of content to indulge in, each level is relatively quick and many can take less than a minute to complete.
If you choose to just play through the main campaign, you are looking at approximately 6 to 6 1/2 hours to complete the short-and-sweet puzzle game. However, since each level has additional challenges you can complete, such as hitting a certain amount of goo that you save, or completing the level in less than 40 seconds, you might have to complete the level a few more times to ensure you hit a full completionist run. This will increase the time to about 7 to 8 hours.
How to Play World of Goo 2
If you are looking to fully complete the game, or just want to speedrun it, there are a few tips and tricks you can use to complete each level.
- The first thing you will want to do is scope out the level. While this might add additional time, it will make it easier for you to complete all the challenges if you know what obstacles are around you.
- With the environment scoped out, make sure you utilize the environment as much as possible. Sometimes, using ledges can make it easier for you to create bridges to reach the end goal, especially if it is high up.
- You will want to save as many goo balls as possible. This will make it much easier to finish later levels and will ensure you can complete all the challenges. Try to stretch out each goo ball as far as possible so you don't have to use more than you need to.
- Use the white time bugs that appear as much as needed if you make a mistake. These will go back in time so you can try again, and won't add on any additional time so you can hit the target for the level's time challenge.
World of Goo 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac.
