Team Compositions |
||
In Wuthering Waves, team composition is essential for maximizing your effectiveness in battles. Unlike Genshin Impact, which focuses on 4-character teams and elemental synergies, Wuthering Waves features 3-character teams that leverage synergies related to buffs such as skill damage, and the utility of Outro skills. This approach allows for more versatile team setups, including duo DPS or non-healer compositions, providing players with the flexibility to experiment with different strategies and combinations.
One of the standout characters in the game is Jinhsi, the Magistrate of Jinzhou, who becomes playable in the version 1.1 update. Jinshi excels as a main DPS character with a focus on Resonance Skill, making her an asset in various scenarios. Alongside Verina and Spectro Rover, she is one of the few playable Spectro characters, which adds significant value in content where this element is advantageous. While there is some leniency on which team to use, especially for challenging content like Tower of Adversity, teaming up Jinhsi with characters that offer complementary buffs or sub-DPS that match her rotation.
Jinhsi + Yinlin + Verina
- Jinhsi: Main DPS
- Yinlin: Sub-DPS
- Verina: Support / Healer
Pairing Jinshi with Yinlin and Verina is currently considered her premium team, featuring only 5-star characters. Yinlin, the previous limited-banner character, is an excellent sub-DPS choice for Jinshi. Her rotation is quick and provides solid DPS without requiring a long setup. Thanks to Jinshi's Unison ability, teams can utilize Intro and Outro skills frequently, making quick swaps to and from Yinlin a strong strategy for dealing large AoE attacks.
Verina, one of the few healer characters and currently the best healer for most teams, is another excellent choice. Her Outro skill provides useful buffs for the entire team, benefiting both Jinshi and Yinlin despite the quick swapping between them. Additionally, Verina can be used in other team compositions with Jinshi. If players need Verina on another team, other support options are also viable, ensuring flexibility in team building.
Jinhsi + Spectro Rover + Taoqi
- Jinhsi: Main DPS
- Spectro Rover: Hybrid Sub DPS / Support
- Taoqi: Support
A team featuring Spectro Rover and Taoqi is also a solid choice for Jinshi, thanks to the utility of their Outro attacks and the relative ease of building this team. Taoqi, being a 4-star character, is more accessible, and Spectro Rover can be upgraded with full resonance sequences easily. Spectro Rover excels as a hybrid character, able to heal team members after her Resonance Liberation while also providing decent DPS with a short combo. Her Outro skill is particularly unique, effectively stopping time for enemies, offering defensive capabilities and allowing uninterrupted combos. With Jinshi, Spectro Rover can utilize this Outro even more frequently, making them an excellent duo despite the slower accumulation of Incandescence stacks due to no off-field DMG abilities.
Taoqi can work well in a team with Jinshi if players focus on building her as a support rather than a hybrid sub-DPS. She can heal the team to some extent (if built with the Rejuvenating like Rover when built correctly and provides damage reduction through her shields and Resonance Skill's DMG reduction buff. However, Taoqi's most significant utility to this team is her Outro skill, which buffs the Resonance Skill (Deepen) of the next character. Considering that Jinshi's biggest damage output comes from her Resonance Skill, and many of her attacks can scale with it, this buff is quite valuable. This makes Taoqi a better choice over characters like Sanhua, who provides an ATK buff instead.
Jinhsi + Yuanwu + Baizhi
- Jinhsi: Main DPS
- Yuanwu: Sub DPS / Support
- Baizhe: Support / Healer
For players interested in pairing Jinshi with freely given 4-star characters, the best option is to pair her with Yuanwu and Baizhi. Similar to Yinlin, Yuanwu requires very little field time as a sub-DPS, and much of his utility can be utilized even when he's off-field. He provides an anti-interruption aura for the team, helps with managing the enemy's stun bar, and gains additional supportive abilities if players can obtain his sequences. Yuanwu is also excellent for quickly accumulating maximum Incandescence, making him the best freemium sub-DPS choice for Jinshi.
Baizhi, on the other hand, plays quite similarly to Verina. She provides team-wide healing and has a similar Outro skill, which increases the next character's damage, unlike Verina's team-wide buff. As long as players pay attention to swapping from Baizhi to Jinshi, this difference is manageable, especially considering that Outro skills will be available more often. This makes Baizhi an effective support character for Jinshi, ensuring sustained healing and damage boosts throughout battles.
General Rotation of Jinhsi Teams
Considering that Jinhsi has a relatively short combo, generally based on entering Enhanced State, players are able to swap between characters more often, in comparison to some other DPS characters that require longer field times.
Overall players will need to follow this general order for Jinhsi's rotation:
Intro> Skill (Enters First Enhanced State — Incarnation)> Enhanced State Skill > Echo > 4x Basic Attacks (Enters Second Enhanced State — Ordination Glow)> Second Enhanced State Skill (This is her high damage dealer) > Resonance Liberation > Outro.
Its worth noting that her Resonance Liberation (as well as echo) damage can be activated any time in the rotation, as long as players pay attention to state durations. Furthermore, players don't need to deal the 4x Basic attacks back to back, as they will not be reset, however players need to do the 4th Basic attack before the duration ends to be able to enter the next Enhanced State. Considering that dealing damage from all characters will provide additional Incandance stacks, players should also be ensuring to swap to characters like Yuanwu in between to ensure that more stacks can be gained. On that sense, its recommended that players split Jinhsi's rotation to allow her to build enough stats, such as:
- Verina / Baizhe (Echo, Echo Set Proc, Outro)
- Jinhsi Intro + First Rotation (First Enhanced State)
- Swap to sub-DPS and do their rotation and outro with Unison
- Jinhsi full long combo.
- Repeat
