Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — How to Get Lynel Guts

Lynel Guts are a rare monster item in Tears of the Kingdom, and to get them, you’ll need to defeat a Silver Lynel.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - How to Get Lynel Guts

Every monster you find in Tears of the Kingdom is 'ranked' by their difficulty based on their color. For example, the common Red Bokoblin is the weakest of its species while the Silver Bokoblin is the strongest. This applies to monsters that are practically mini-bosses, such as the Lynels. Depending on what monster part you're farming, you'll want to battle the stronger enemies and hope they drop what you need.

Lynel Guts are considered a 'rare' drop in Tears of the Kingdom. You'll have a higher chance of getting them if you defeat Silver Lynels. However, Silver Lynels are the toughest species of Lynels and can be difficult to beat. You'll also have better luck fighting them on The Surface of Hyrule rather than The Depths.

Where to Find Silver Lynel

Faron Grasslands, Hyrule Castle Depths

There's a fixed Silver Lynel spawn at the Nautelle Wetlands ( -0542, -3830, 0050) in the Faron Grasslands. You can reach the Nautelle Wetlands by heading south from the Ishokin Shrine (-0565, -3523, 0129). The Ishokin Shrine is tied to the quest "Ride the Giant Horse." The "giant horse" in question is the large, white stallion, which is located beyond the Horse God Bridge at 0738, -3729, 0080. You'll need a little over two full stamina wheels to tame it.

If you can't find the Silver Lynel in the wetlands, you may be too early in your TotK playthrough . If this is the case, you should focus on the "Regional Phenomena" main quest (i.e, clear the temples).

Another place to look for Silver Lynels is in The Depths. Specifically, there is a Silver Lynel in the Hyrule Castle Depths. As its name implies, you can reach these Depths by entering the Hyrule Castle Chasm, which is directly below the floating Hyrule Castle.

Be warned if you plan to farm from this Lynel, as the Castle Depths is crawling with gloom-infested monsters. If you're prepared, then follow the paths deeper into the Castle Depths, and you'll find the Silver Lynel standing alone in a large room. Make sure to get rid of the Electric Keese and Horoblins before fighting the Lynel.

Tips for Defeating Silver Lynels

Quickest Way to Defeat A Lynel

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - How to Get Lynel Guts

There's no "quick" way to defeat Silver Lynels, but you can make fighting them easier. Generally, you'll want weapons that have high Fusion power (ex: 80+), and if you're fighting the Silver Lynel in The Depths, you may want to have the Master Sword. The Master Sword deals "critical" damage to gloom monsters.

While not a requirement, having some of the Sages with you is advised. Mineru's Construct comes in handy here, as you can backflip off of it, then use your bow to aim for the Lynel's head. As you know, hitting monsters in the head will temporarily stun them. Doing this will leave the Lynel open to attack.

Another pointer to keep in mind is Flurry Rush. Time the Silver Lynel's attack and dodge at the last second to trigger a Flurry Rush. You can also parry the Lynel with your shield.

If you fuse an Ancient Blade to your arrow, you can defeat the Lynel in one hit. However , defeating monsters this way ensures n o item drops . So, despite being the quickest way to defeat them, it's generally not recommended for farming items.
