Best 4-Star F2P Team: Billy + Anby + Nicole
While players are given a wider range of free characters, due to the synergy between these characters with all being Cunning Hare members, the first 3 freely given characters, namely Billy, Anby and Nicole can work out quite well, while filling the spots with a DPS, Stunner and Support role. However, due to the limitation of available elemental synergies ( especially with Nicole being only Ether, and Billy not having access to a Physical Stunner for example) players may notice performance to be quite fluctuating. Overall however, especially to learn the game's combat mechanics, as well as to tackle each content with an entirely F2P team, players can rely on these characters.
Grace Team: Grace + Anton + Anby
Grace is one of the characters capable of creating synergistic combos with a wide range of characters, even though many options require other 5-star characters like Rina or Koleda. However, for a more free-to-play friendly option, players can rely on Anby as the team's stunner and Anton, who unfortunately needs to be pulled from the Gacha. While Grace can generally function as a DPS on her own, in this team composition, she serves more as a sub-DPS. Anton, being a synergistic DPS character, takes the primary role, creating a dynamic team. This setup is particularly enjoyable for players who prefer a duo-DPS strategy or want all characters to have a similar amount of on-field time while also being able to create a mono-element (in this case Electric) team.
Koleda Team: Koleda + Ben + Piper
Koleda and Ben have excellent synergy thanks to their shared faction and Fire element, with Ben also being able to buff Koleda effectively. For a DPS option, players can opt for Corin as their completely F2P choice. However, if they have been fortunate, Piper is an even better DPS choice. If players have both Piper and Lucy, they can replace Ben with Lucy, forming a team of Koleda, Lucy, and Piper. This setup offers enhanced synergy since each character can activate faction and element buffs, creating a well-rounded team composition of DPS, Stun, and Support, rather than relying on a defense character like Ben.
Lycaon Team: Corin + Lycaon + Soukaku
While Lycaon's best premium team includes Ellen, those looking for an F2P-friendly option can team him up with Corin and Soukaku to great effect. Both of these characters are freely given to players after some progression and maintain full synergy with Lycaon. Corin and Lycaon can activate additional buffs for their shared faction, while Soukaku and Lycaon benefit from their shared Ice element. Although Corin may not be as strong a DPS as Ellen, this team will still function well with intact DPS, Stunner, and Support roles. This is especially true considering Lycaon and Soukaku are among the best characters in their respective roles in the launch version.
Nekomata Team: Nekomata + Anby + Nicole
Similar to the F2P team with Billy, Nekomata can also benefit greatly from teaming up with Anby and Nicole, as both characters have excellent synergy with her. Nicole is particularly valuable for her EX ability, which shreds defense and enables quick assists from Nekomata, allowing for a seamless rotation. On the other hand, Anby helps the team generate a significant amount of Daze, boosting Nekomata's total DPS output. However, since either Anby or Nicole alone is sufficient for synergy with Nekomata (although Nicole is generally a bit more synergistic), players can use the remaining slot for another character. For example, they might include Soukaku as support or ideally another stunner instead of Anby if available.
Rina Team: Rina + Corin + Anby
As a support role character, Rina shares the versatility of Lycaon, who fits well into many teams as a stunner. Rina can synergize effectively with most existing 5-star characters, such as Lycaon, Grace, or Ellen, due to the attribute and faction buffs she provides. However, in strictly F2P teams, Rina excels when paired with Corin, as they share the same faction. For the stunner role, the best choice is Anby, thanks to her Electric element synergy, which helps with the Anomaly (Shock) buildup.
Soldier 11 Team: Soldier 11 + Ben + Lucy
Soldier 11 is one of the few standard characters, alongside Grace, that can maintain optimal synergy while focusing on a mono-element capability, specifically for the Fire element. Ideally, Soldier 11 can benefit significantly from teaming up with Koleda, particularly if players have been fortunate enough to pull her. Koleda's abilities complement Soldier 11's strengths, creating a formidable Fire element team. For players seeking an entirely F2P option, Ben is a reliable choice to pair with Soldier 11. Ben is the only defensive character capable of playing a stunner role, making him incredibly valuable for F2P players without other options. His ability to both tank damage and contribute to the team’s control makes him a versatile and essential member of the squad. Additionally, Lucy, despite needing to be pulled from the Gacha, is an excellent support option as she is for many other team compositions thanks to her flexibility, while having benefits such as granting the whole team a flat ATK buff.
