The New Eridu City Battle Pass in Zenless Zone Zero offers players an exciting way to earn additional rewards as they progress through the game. Much like the battle passes in Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, this system encourages players to complete daily and weekly missions to level up their pass. The free tier provides a variety of useful items, including additional gacha pulls, upgrade materials, and in-game currency.
For those looking to maximize their rewards, the Battle Pass also offers a paid upgrade option known as the Growth Channel. This premium tier unlocks a host of added benefits, including more substantial rewards at each level. One of the standout perks of the Growth Channel is the selector for an A-Rank Battle Pass Exclusive W-Engine at level 30, making the Growth Channel a tempting option for dedicated players. That being the case, here's how they fare as opposed to F2P or gacha W-Engine options, and which one of them is the most worthy.
Is the Growth Channel Worth in Zenless Zone Zero?
Some players might wonder if investing in the Growth Channel is worth it, given that it's not particularly free-to-play friendly. While the decision ultimately depends on a player's budget and desire to advance quickly, it can be especially beneficial in the early stages of the game. Resources are generally limited in the initial versions, and players often want to focus on multiple characters simultaneously. For those who can afford it, purchasing the Growth Channel at least once or a few times can provide significant advantages, including the ability to select a W-Engine.
However, it's important to consider the long-term value. Many pieces of gear can eventually be replaced, and in the long run, players might find better investments elsewhere. For instance, 5-star W-Engines can be acquired from the Shop over time. Therefore, while the Growth Channel offers substantial early-game benefits, it might not be a wise long-term investment. Players should weigh these factors carefully before deciding to invest.

Which Battle Pass W-Engine Is Best to Pick?
Ultimately, the best W-Engine to pick highly depends on the player’s current roster and the other W-Engines they have access to. However, from a general standpoint, the Support W-Engine, Unfettered Game Ball, is the best pick, especially if players are planning to build Rina, Lucy, or Nicole and do not have access to an S-Rank Support W-Engine. On the other hand, a character like Soukaku benefits more from Bashful Demon, if players have access to it. Considering that players will be able to expand their roster with more support characters in the future, particularly for mono-element teams, this W-Engine can remain a much more future-proof option than the others.
The second-best option to choose could be Attack W-Engine, Cannon Rotor, especially for players who have pulled characters like Agent 11, Ellen, or even for Zhu Yuan and do not have access to a better choice. The Crit Rate base stat on this W-Engine can be quite useful when maximizing the stats of Attack Characters, though the effect is not highly substantial as it triggers only once every 8 seconds.
The Anomaly option, Electro-Lip Gloss, is also solid and can be considered the best A-Rank option (especially when fully modified) for Grace if players haven’t obtained her signature W-Engine yet. However, as of now, there are only two characters—Grace and Piper—who can use it, which limits its current utility. It has have high potential to be more valuable in the future as more characters are introduced.
Six Shooter is also quite close in that regard. However, with two 5-star standard W-Engines existing in the gacha pool, both being superior options, and other stun W-Engines performing similarly, it is not a high-priority option. Furthermore, it takes up to 18 seconds to fully charge before its full effect for EX Attacks is realized, making it a slow effect that may not be worth considering.
Lastly, Spring Embrace is currently only equippable by Ben, as he is the only Defense character. Combined with the fact that its advancement stat is ATK, which may not be as useful for future characters if they scale with DEF or HP instead, makes this W-Engine the least priority option to pick.
