If you’re a fan of multiplayer scrap-collecting survival horror Lethal Company you’ll be happy to hear there’s a new update out. You’ll be doubly happy if arachnophobia has been putting you off playing the game because you can now disable spiders.
That’s the good news. If you can’t stand spiders, you can enable arachnophobia mode and the spiders will be replaced with the word ‘spider’, but with fangs. They can still kill you, though, so don’t try petting them.
The free ‘Frosty’ update also adds in a whole host of other content including chemistry flasks, spray paint cans and dramatic masks. That last one sounds like a pretty cool cosmetic, right? Well it’s not, it’s the stuff of nightmares.
The way masks work is if you put one on long enough it’ll kill you then hijack your body, sending it after your teammates. You have to choose to wear the mask, however. So.. you have to make the decision to give up that run just to mess with your fellow players. Who would do that? Half the people who play Lethal Company, that’s who.
But players have been asking for something along these lines, a monster that disguises itself as human. Some players were even asking for a creature that directly copied human speech. Lethal Company, including this update, is available now on PC priced at $9.99. You can play it solo, via lan mode, but it’s not recommended. This game is at its best when everyone is running for their lives.
