Bandai Namco has today revealed the final fighter that will be in Tekken 8 at launch. Reina, also known as Purple Lightning, is a mysterious character, with the only fact known about her being that she studied at the Mishima Polytechnical School. In any case, she looks cool, and seems very competent at laying on the hurt. For some reason, she’s also very determined to engage Jin in combat.
With the reveal of Reina, Tekken 8’s full roster of 32 characters has now been laid bare. Victor Chevalier and Azucena Milagros Ortiz Castillo join Reina as being completely new to the cast, while the remaining 29 are characters that have been brought back from previous games but tweaked and reimagined for this new chapter.

You can see Reina in action in the Reveal & Gameplay trailer above. There’s not too long to wait for the launch of Tekken 8 now, either. It’s set to launch on 26th January 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Judging by the time we’ve spent with the game via recent closed betas, it’s going to be pretty good, too. It needs to be, what with the fighting game genre heating up this year with releases such as Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1.
