If you’ve been working on the same city for 8 years and were planning on importing it into this sequel, we’ve got bad news. There is no way of importing a city from the original Cities: Skylines into Cities: Skylines 2.
This isn’t some shocking oversight, with developer Colossal Order Ltd letting down long times fans. Cities: Skylines 2 is an entirely new game, built from scratch, with a whole bunch of new systems. Sure, with Mass Effect you could look at a character and see they made Decision X and Decision Y and bring those in, that’s doable. But processing every single piece of a Cities: Skylines city, somehow shoehorning it into this new game isn’t feasible.
