Ahead of its actual launch this Friday, the launch trailer for Lords of the Fallen has just been released.
With the phenomenal Elden Ring released last year and Lies of P just last month, Soulslikes fans have been kept busy. This week sees the launch of another game they should have on their radar, too; Hexworks’ Lords of the Fallen.
Successor to the 2014 videogame of the same name, Lords of the Fallen invites players to a dark world where they’re challenged to overthrow a demon God by the name of Adyr. Of course, being a Soulslike, the combat is tense and challenging, the world is vast and interconnected, and to level up players to collect a resource primarily obtained by killing enemies. Needless to say, fans of games such as Dark Souls will find things very familiar.
Lords of the Fallen does have some unique features up its sleeves, though. Perhaps the biggest is its dual-world mechanic, that lets players switch between the worlds of the living and the dead in order to overcome obstacles. You’ll also find yourself in the world of the dead should you to succumb to your injuries in combat, giving you a second chance to succeed. Just be aware that the longer you spend in the world of the dead, the more dangerous it becomes.
You can check out the launch trailer for Lords of the Fallen above. There’s still time to preorder, too, which give you access to some bonus content. A Digital Deluxe edition is also available, letting you start the game as a powerful Dark Crusader and more.
