If you’re a fan of 3D platformers, May might have just got a bit more interesting for you. Developed by Mexico-based studio Wabisabi Games, RKGK is a single-player 3D platformer with a gorgeous art style. And not only has it just got a new gameplay trailer, but a release date, too.
RKGK will launch on PC via Steam on 22nd May, and it aims to turn heads and drop jaws. Putting players in control of Valah, a fearless graffiti artist, it’s up to her and her friends to take down B-Corp, an oppressive corporation ran by evil CEO Mr. Buff.
Chaining together stylish moves including grinds, jumps and dashes will be key to the gameplay, with the world around Valah becoming an animated wonderland should you achieve a perfect flow state. There’ll be combat, too, of course. And graffiti. Valah will be able to reclaim Cap City with her works of art, and also dress for the occasion.
Fast and colourful, RKGK aims to please speedrunners by incorporating elements such as time trackers and hidden paths. And for those who like to push themselves, there’ll be secret treasures to be found. All in all, it might just prove to be one of May’s hidden gems. It’s certainly passed us by until now.
