Fallout 4’s Power Armour is incredibly cool, but once you’re in, how do you leave? Here’s how to exit Power Armour in Fallout 4.
Unlike some Fallout games, Fallout 4 doesn’t make you jump through hoops to get Power Armour. You’re given it about an hour into the main game, if you’re following the main quest. But how do you get out? Or are you forever doomed to be sealed inside a big metal can?
To exit Power Armour in Fallout 4, you have to hold down the same button you used to enter it, which is A on Xbox, X on PlayStation or E on keyboard. That also applies if you’re using a PlayStation or Xbox controller on your PC.
Once you’ve exited, you needn’t worry about anyone stealing your power armour, though it becomes next to useless when your fusion core is empty. You’ll see the last set of Power Armour you used marked on your Pip-Boy map, represented by the mask icon you can see below.
But be warned, once you’re in that Power Armour you’re not invulnerable, you can still take damage and you’ll still need to maintain your armour. That means repairing the pieces at a Power Armour Station or replacing pieces. If the battle’s not going your way it can sometimes be easier to just exit the armour and run.
So the way to exit Power Armour in Fallout 4 is to press A on Xbox, X on PlayStation or E on keyboard.
