Find out how to parry in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, giving you another way to avoid taking damage in combat
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 finds Peter Parker and Miles Morales facing off against some of their most fearsome foes yet. And so it stands to reason that simply dodging all incoming attacks isn’t going to cut the mustard. In this epic sequel you’ll eventually find that some enemies are equipped to stop you from avoiding their hits, forcing you to parry them instead. So, how do you parry attacks in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?
To parry attacks in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you simply need to press and hold the L1 button just before an enemy attack lands. Get it right and you’ll block the attack before putting the enemy that delivered it off-balance, giving you a great opportunity to counter-attack. It’s all just a matter of timing, so keep practicing until you get it right. If you’re struggling, you can increase the parry window if you wish by going into the gameplay settings.
Players should be aware, however, that not all attacks in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 can be parried. If an enemy’s attack has a blue marker, for example, your only option is to dodge it. If you try to parry it you’ll just get hurt. On the other hand, enemy attacks that have a yellow/orange marker can only be parried rather than dodged. Pay close attention to the type of attacks that enemies use against you, then, and learn the best way to deal with them. That’s the key to success when it comes to combat in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
