Following on from its release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, the delightful small-town delivery sim Lake will be available on Switch later this week. On Thursday, in fact, so there’s only two days to wait.
If you’ve not yet played Lake, there are several reasons to have this on your radar. One, it’s an utterly cosy adventure, allowing you to explore the picturesque town of Providence Oaks at your own pace. Two, there are some truly wonderful characters to meet, each with their own little stories for you to uncover. And three, driving around in your mail delivery van is an utter joy.
We should also mention the town’s video rental store, with its collection of spoof films that never fail to make us smile.
In our review of Lake, we said: “This six-or-so hour adventure forces you to take things slowly; to stop and think. That’s something we all could do with more of in this hectic, stressful world. Meredith may be fictional, as may be the gorgeous Providence Oaks, but the life choices she ponders during the course of the game are something we can all relate to. If you’re anything like us, you’ll rue the credits finally rolling, wishing you could continue to deliver mail in that small, sleepy town forever.”
